Union for Peace and Development

The Union for Peace and Development-Zigamibanga ((フランス語:Union pour la paix et la démocratie), UPD) is a small political party in Burundi.
== History ==
The UPD was founded in 2002. Several of its politicians came from the circle around Hussein Radjabu who was a leader of the CNDD-FDD.〔 It is seen as a Muslim party.〔
The Union for Peace and Development was an opposition party to Pierre Nkurunziza's CNDD-FDD-led government of Burundi since 2005. On 23 May 2015, during the 2015 Burundian unrest, UPD leader Zedi Feruzi was assassinated during protests against Nkurunziza's rule, causing the opposition to suspend its participation in talks with the government.〔(al-Jazeera )〕
